Homecoming Runaway

Lane Tech 49

Lincoln Park 0

(Lane Stadium- Chicago, IL) – Last year Lincoln Park High School was champions of the Public League Chicago Big Shoulders Conference. As a result, they moved up to the more competitive Illini-Red Bird Conference with Taft, Curie, Whitney Young, Mather, and Lane Tech. The results so far have not been so promising for Lincoln Park as they have lost 38-8 to Curie, 19-14 to Mather, and beat 1-5 Taft 6-0. Perennial conference champion Lane Tech added to their woes as Lane crushed Lincoln Park 49-0 in Lane’s homecoming day.

Lane was led by running back William Moorehead who carried 16 times for 112 yards, and one touchdown. Lane scored 6 times in the first half to take a 42-0 halftime lead. Scoring for Lane Tech was Abraham Fuentes on a 28 yard reception, Chris Anton on a 25 yard TD run and a 55 yard kickoff return, Adam Nelson on a safety, Koshion Barfield on a 5 yard reception, Jean-Claude Chassagne on a 20 yard interception return for a touchdown, and Frank Bougher on a 1 yard run.

Lane’s defense held Lincoln Park to -4 yards total yards for the game and sacked the Lions quarterback Matt Carter 5 times.

Next up for Lane Tech will be the Curie Condors next Friday night at Lane stadium for the conference championship.
