Jacqueline Vera Signs to Play Soccer for Loyola University

 

Jacqueline Vera (class of 2006) has been called the best girls soccer player to ever come out of the Public League. Her statistics speak for themselves. In addition to leading Lane to 2 city championships; she is also the seventh (as of 2006) leading goal scorer of the Illinois High Sports Association leading goal scorers’ with 147 career goals during her 4 year career at Lane. Jacqueline a 5-7, Midfielder/Forward will continue her soccer playing for the Loyola University women’s soccer team. Some of her post season recognition includes being named in the Pioneer Press Top 50 Female Athletes of 2005.

Four-time IHSSCA All-State selection... ranks seventh all-time in the state with 147 career goals... led team to four Chicago Public League championship appearances, winning two city titles in 2004 and 2006... earned all-city and all-conference accolades all four years in high school... four year starter and letter winner during high school career... guided team to two IHSA regional finals... tallied a season-best seven goals against Kennedy this past season... played club soccer for the Windy City Pride and helped them win the San Diego Surf Cup championship in 2003... member of the state and regional ODP pools in 2001 and 2002.
