Cortez Evans, Lane Tech class of 2002 Added/Updated to List of Lanenites Who Played Beyond High School in Lane Alumni Page

  

 

Cortez Evans Lane Tech class of 2002 played for Concordia St-Paul and then for Minnesota State- Moorhead where he played fullback.  While at Lane, Evans played football, wrestled, and ran track. He is now the Defensive Line coach at Macallester College, a liberal arts college in St. Paul Minnesota,  (photos courtesy of perspective schools websites).

 

In the Lane Tech Alumni section of this website, there is a list of Lanenites who have played beyond the High School level. When the list was first made on August 25, 2006, there was a total of only 27 names on this list. The list was obviously incomplete. Since then thanks to a gracious contributions of LaneTechFan.com readers, we have added more names to the list.

Assistant Coach Cortez Evans - Defensive Line

Cortez Evans

Cortez Evans joined the Mac staff in May and will be coaching the defensive line for the Scots. Coach Evans comes to Macalester from Minnesota State University-Moorhead, where he played for Ralph Micheli (Mac class of '65) While at MSU-M, Coach Evans earned his degree in Communications and served on numerous committees in addition to being elected vice-president of the Association for Community Enrichment.

Evans played and captained perennial Chicagoland power Lane Tech before starting his college career at Concordia-St. Paul and then moving on to MSU-M. While at Lane Tech, Evans also proved to be a standout in wrestling and track and field, as well as power lifting.

“Cortez's addition is a blessing for the Macalester football family,” observes Coach Caruso. We were fortunate to be able to attract a man of his caliber and integrity. He is the ultimate team player and has proven to be a very productive young recruiter for us already”

Cortez is single and lives in St Paul .
