Sean Grosvenor: Lane Tech's state champion in several gymnastics events

When most people think of the Chicago Public League they think of basketball. However, there was a time when a Public League gymnast ruled the state of Illinois high school boys gymnastics. That time was in 1991 and 1992 when Sean Grosvenor from Lane Tech was one of the state's best gymnast. Grosvenor won individual state championships in the floor exercises and rings in 1991 and floor exercises in 1992. He also took 2nd in the state in the vault in 1991 and 2nd in the state in horizontal bar in 1992. As a result he finished 2nd in the state all-around in 1991 and in 1992.

After high school, Grosvenor continued his gymnastics career at the University of Illinois at Chicago. After his collegiate career he ended up serving as an assistant men's gymnastic coach at UIC. Currently, he is a Director of Logistics at Trinsys Systems Limited.
