Camacho, Lane Tech Shut-Outs Elk Grove Village

(Elk Grove Village, IL)  Elk Grove Village has sparkling girls softball facilities and a good girls softball team that was seeded 6th in last year's state playoffs. On the other hand, Lane has no onsite girls softball fields at Lane and thus play most of their games on the road. However, Lane Tech handed Elk Grove Village of the Mid-Suburban League a 6-0 defeat. Lane was led by sophomore pitcher Jazzy Camacho who threw a complete game 3-hitter over 7 innings pitched. Camacho starts for most of Lane's games. Today, she had one of her most complete games of the season versus a very good suburban team. Daniela Torres (junior) provided the power and contributed 3 RBI's.

    This victory over a good suburban school like Elk grove Village is rare for a Public League school. However the Lane Tech softball team has been winning consistently over suburban schools the last few years. This victory solidifies even further the softball teams status as one of Lane Tech more competitive sports.
