State Points!
Morgan Monroe and Margie Zimoch scored state
points for Lane Tech's girls track team. Morgan Monroe reached
her goal of running under 44 seconds in the 300 meter low
hurdles by clocking a time of 43.43 seconds to finish 4th in the
state. Meanwhile Margie Zimoch leaped her season best in the

Advanced and Ready
Lane Tech girls track team advances 6 individuals and
1
relay to the state finals
Lane Tech went into the Oak Park (Fenwick) girls
track and field sectional knowing it was going to be very
competitive. After all track powers Fenwick, St. Ignatius, Oak
Park-River Forest, and emerging track power Whitney Young
participated in the meet.

Lane Tech boys track team qualifies
practically everybody for this Saturday’s city track championship
(Hansen Stadium; Chicago, IL) The
Chicago Public League held the city championship qualifying boys varsity
track meet on Wed, May 2, 2007. The top 12 in distance events and field
events as well as the top 8 finishers in sprints and relays qualify for this
Saturday’s city track championship finals. Each school is allowed a maximum
of two runners to run in each running and field events and one relay for
every relay event.

Spring Bloom!
"Lane Tech... is seeing a
resurgence in its track programs"- Daily Herald
Lane Tech Boys Track Team Takes
Highland Park Invitational
It's been really cold this spring so
far. However, on the first beautiful night this spring with perfect running
temperature of about 64 degrees, the hard work Lane Tech has done the last few
months has finally begin to bloom. Lane Tech out battled Lake Zurich
119-101 to take the second annual Highland Park Twighlight track meet. What made
this victory especially wonderful was that this meet was described by coach Roof
as an "elite meet", meaning there was some serious competition. Participating in
this meet was New Trier, Highland Park, Lake Zurich, Vernon Hills, Lakes,
Mather, and Warren.
