The statement, "With one more win Lane will clinch their first winning season since 2000" is not correct. In 1999-2000 we were 30-2 and in fact did place 4th in state. The following season our record was 20-4, and in 2001-02 we finished 14-5. Both years qualifying the team for the IHSA state tournament. The years following the 2002 season were a little lean, but we use those years to rebuild and the result is what you see today. This information may not be that big of a deal, but I thought that those who wrestled on the 2001 and 02 teams should be represented correctly."

Former Lane Tech Wrestling Coach Ed Nobiling coached Lane's wrestling team in his first year in the 2000-2001 season. That year, Lane captured the city title for it's 13th city title in 14 years. Nobiling is now an assistant wrestling coach Evanston Township High school but still teaches at Lane.
