Lane is currently 8-5 as a team. With one more win Lane will clinch their
first winning season since 2000, when Lane took 4th as a team in state.

Lane wrestles rival Mather at home this Tuesday, 5pm.
Lane Won two more dual meets vs St. Ignatius and Marian Catholic. Lane beat
St. Ignatius 47-21, behind pins from David Mihaila, Jamelle Williams, Yuriy
Koverko, and Justin Vargas, and wins from Tog Ganbold, Justin Cobb, Stevie
Santana, and Robert Hannan.
Lane also defeated Marian Catholic 43-36 in comeback fashion. Lane trailed
24-0 at one point and 30-6 before they made their comeback. Down 8 pts with
three classes left, Capt. Jamelle Williams's (160 lbs) 8-5 win brought them
within 5. Then 171 Yuriy Koverko's pin put Lane ahead by 1 with one
wrestler left, Capt. Koshion Barfield. His pin clinched the victory for
Lane.

Jamelle Williams, 160 lbs is the head captain and last year's MVP of the
wrestling team. He is being scouted by Johns Hopkins University as he has 4.5
GPA/ 27ACT. This past summer he made the USA Wrestling Team Illinois
Greco-Roman National team.
