I was just writing to inform you
about Lane Tech's performance at the Lincoln High School Holiday tournament this
past Friday.
Lane finished 7th out of 18 teams. Very solid showing, within 30 pts of a top 5
finish. They were led by 1st place finishes by Captain Jamelle Williams 160
,who defeated the 2 seed in the first round 2-1, and cruised to the championship
without getting taken down, and by Soph. Justin Cobb 125, who defeated 4 solid
wrestlers.Capt. Koshion Barfield 189- 2nd place. Wrestled a very good
tournament in
one of toughest weight classes in the tournament. Lost 8-5 in finals to a
wrestler ranked 3rd in state (Class A) Tog Ganbold 119- 5th place- Very solid
tournament in probably THE toughest weight class. Unbeaten after loss in the
second round. Capt. Scott Minneci 145- 5th place. Unbeaten after loss in the
first round to the eventual champion.
